Displays

We are very sorry to announce that we are unable to hold Essex Dog Day in 2022.  Many of our volunteers are unavailable due to other commitments and circumstances beyond their control which will make it very difficult to deliver the event that people would expect.  Wishing all of the Dogs in Essex a fun and happy summer.

Don’t miss the action in the Main Arena!

Come and see the exciting and interactive displays and demonstrations, great fun for all the family.

2020 displays

Guido Louis - Equestrian Stunt & Tackless Show

Trained by Cossacks, Guido offers a unique mix of fast paced equestrian stunt riding and mesmerising liberty work all in one! Guido, who has been performing all over the world, has returned to the UK show circuit for this year’s season to once again wow the crowds with truly death-defying feats, only to then work his three horses wihout any tack on at all! True harmonty between man and horse taken to new heights!

Ridgeside 'Little Nippers' and Falconry Display

Phill and Tracy Gibbons of Ridgeside invite you to see their fantastic dogs and falconry displays. In the arena, the dogs race both over obstacles and at full speed chasing the electric lure. The public will have the change to “have a go” with their own dogs – whatever their breed! The Birds of Prey Demonstrations consist of a static display of approximately 15 Birds of Prey from around the world, including owls, flacons, hawks, eagles and vultures, plus spectacular free flying displays.

Frank Walker

Frank Walker is well known in Essex as a Dog Trainer and ‘course setter’ for many major Essex Dog Tests. After a career in the Army and latterly as a specialist trainer for the Essex Police, he owns the Essex Gundog and Obedience School near LangenHoe in Essex. His speciality is Gundog training ~ all breeds, including Labradors, Spaniels and Pointers – through a methodical and easily applied system of basic training exercises. His purpose designed training system aims to teach the Dog Handler how to first develop basic obedience and steadiness in their dogs before moving on to advanced hunting and retrieving.

Sandon Police Dog Unit

The Essex Police Dog Unit will be giving two exciting displays. These are always huge favourites and include police cars with sirens screaming and lights blazing chasing the armed bandits' car and highly trained police dogs chasing and, hopefully, catching the criminals.
